Frequently asked questions

Understand the scope before you apply.

Clear answers about the assessment, pricing, evidence requirements, professional boundaries and what happens next.

What is the Building Intelligence Assessment?

It is a structured decision-support review of the building information you provide. It organizes evidence, highlights gaps and identifies practical priorities for follow-up.

Does it replace an engineering inspection?

No. It does not replace engineering, architectural, legal, accounting, appraisal, environmental, fire and life-safety or other qualified professional services.

What does the founding assessment cost?

The founding price is CAD $1,500 per accepted building for the first five accepted buildings, plus applicable taxes. Building Brain confirms whether a founding place remains available before payment.

What information will I need?

Start with property facts, current concerns, repair histories, invoices, inspection reports, warranties, drawings and any outstanding notices. Missing information can be identified during intake.

How quickly is it delivered?

Accepted buildings target delivery within seven business days after completed intake and full payment, subject to the confirmed scope and availability of information.

Is the Building Health Score™ a certification?

No. It is an explanatory starting picture based on available information. It is not a warranty, certification or guarantee of condition, compliance or future performance.

What happens after the assessment?

The owner may act on the priorities, obtain targeted professional opinions and, where useful, choose a membership option to keep building information current.

What does the sample score of 58 mean?

It is a fictional format example. It illustrates that repeated issues and missing evidence can reduce decision confidence; it is not a condition grade, compliance result or prediction. A human reviewer explains any score in a real assessment.

Who reviews an assessment?

A human reviewer checks the supplied evidence summary and proposed priorities before delivery. Issues requiring engineering, legal, safety or other qualified professional judgment are referred to the appropriate professional.

Where does an online form submission go?

The form stores the submission in the Building Brain Site database. An email alert to info@buildingbrain.ca depends on the Site’s email-notification configuration. If the form reports that an alert was not sent, email info@buildingbrain.ca directly.
